Point East is a small oceanfront community on the barrier island of New Smyrna Beach — the kind of place with a long pool pointed straight at the ocean, shuffleboard courts by the dunes, and a white picket gate that opens onto the sand. Unit 205 sits on the second floor with a covered balcony looking over the pool deck to the water. Bring the family; we keep the closet stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, and a wagon to haul it all.
